Terms of use
The ground rules for using this family register, in plain words. Using the register means you agree to them.
-
Who can join
- The register is for the Khawaja family and relatives who can show their connection. Anyone may ask to join; a reviewer decides.
- No documents are required — a relative who can vouch for you is enough — but the connection you describe must be honest.
-
Your account
- One account per person, in your own name. Each email address and mobile number belongs to one account.
- Keep your password to yourself. Relatives without their own email or phone are added by a guardian, not by sharing a login.
- You are responsible for what is done with your account.
-
What you add
- Add only what you believe to be true, with a source where you can, and say how sure you are.
- Names, dates and family links you suggest are checked by a reviewer before they change the register.
- By adding information, photos or documents, you allow the family register to keep and show them to the people allowed to see them, under each person’s privacy settings.
- Upload only photos and documents you have the right to share, with the permission of the people in them.
-
How to behave
- Follow the community guidelines: be courteous, protect each other’s privacy and keep the register accurate.
- Do not copy members’ details or the register to other sites, sell them or use them to advertise.
-
Donations and the help board
- Giving is always voluntary. Payments are handled by the payment provider, and a donation counts only when the provider confirms it.
- Each campaign names its purpose and who is responsible for it. Money received is recorded in a ledger that cannot be edited, and the finance team keeps statements for each campaign.
- Help offered between relatives on the help board is arranged between them. Ask only for what you need and share only what the person concerned agreed to.
-
Events
- Answer honestly, and withdraw your answer if your plans change, so a place can go to someone on the waiting list.
- Organisers see who answered and may check you in; meeting links are shared only with people who are going.
About the register itself
The register records what the family knows, with every link labelled by how well it is documented. It is a family record, not a legal or religious certificate of descent.
The starting point the family recognises for its tree proves no individual link, and competing accounts are kept side by side rather than erased.
Suspension and closing
Administrators may decline a request to join, and may suspend a membership after serious or repeated breaches of these terms or the guidelines. Every such decision is recorded.
You may close your account at any time from your account settings. Your place in the family register stays, as the privacy policy explains.
Changes and questions
When these terms change, this page is updated, with the date of the change shown at the top. Keeping your account after a change means you accept the new terms.
