Khawaja Family Heritage

Community guidelines

This is a place for one family. These guidelines keep it kind, private and accurate — for the relatives here today and for the generations who will read the register after us.

  1. Speak as family

    • Be courteous to every relative, whatever their branch, country or opinions.
    • Disagree about records, never about people. No insults, mockery or harassment.
    • Leave out political and sectarian arguments; this is not the place for them.
  2. Protect each other’s privacy

    • Never share another relative’s phone number, email, address or photo without their permission.
    • Keep medical, financial and family matters out of announcements and public requests.
    • Take extra care with anything about children. Information about minors is never public.
    • What you see in the register stays in the register: do not copy it to other sites or groups.
  3. Keep the register true

    • Suggest names, dates and links with a source where you can — a page of the family book, a certificate, a record.
    • Say how sure you are. “Reported” and “Not yet verified” are honest labels, not failures.
    • Never assume a relationship from a surname, a place or a religion alone.
    • When accounts differ, add yours beside the other. Both are kept and marked “disputed”; nothing is erased.
  4. Ask for and give help with care

    • Share only the details a helper needs, and only what the person concerned agreed to.
    • Give through the campaign pages. A donation counts only when the payment provider confirms it.
    • Never ask relatives for money in private messages, and report anyone who does.
    • A pledge is a promise; mark help as received only when it has actually arrived.
  5. Messages and contact

    • Contact a relative through the directory; they choose whether to reply or share their details.
    • No advertising, chain messages or repeated requests after someone has said no.
  6. Photos and documents

    • Upload a portrait only with the person’s permission — or their family’s, for those who have passed away.
    • Documents and scans stay private to the people allowed to see them.

If something is wrong

  1. Report it

Use “Report” on the notice, help request or conversation. Only moderators see who reported.

  2. Moderators review

A moderator looks at every report, harassment first, and can correct or take down what breaks these guidelines.

  3. Action is recorded

Repeated or serious breaches can lead to a suspended account. Every decision is kept in the audit log.
