What the register brings together

Where the line begins

The family recognises Khawaja Moinuddin Chishti, who rests at Ajmer Sharif, as the historical starting point of its tree.

The starting point the family recognises for its tree. Each line drawn from it is labelled by how well it is documented; the starting point itself proves no individual link.

How to read our tree

Every line says how sure we are

  • DocumentedSupported by a book, certificate or record
  • ReportedTold by a family member
  • EstimatedInferred, for example from generations
  • DisputedSources disagree — all accounts kept
  • Not yet verifiedWaiting for evidence or review
Careful by design

How a record changes

  1. Someone suggests it

A member proposes a name, date, parent or spouse, ideally with a source.

  2. A reviewer checks it

A branch or genealogy administrator compares it with the family book and other sources.

  3. It is approved in one step

The change is checked again as it is saved, and recorded in a permanent audit log.

  4. Nothing is erased

Earlier versions and retired links are kept, so the history of every record stays visible to reviewers.
